Jijabai Teaches Courage
जिजाऊमाता धैर्यं शिक्षयति

सद्गुणाः मातुः वचनात् जायन्ते।
sadguṇāḥ mātuḥ vacanāt jāyante.
“Noble qualities are born from a mother's words.”
Evening Stories
सायंकाले बालशिवाजी मातुः जिजाबाईं चरणे उपविष्टः। दीपस्य प्रकाशे माता कथां वदति। "वत्स, अद्य रामस्य कथां श्रृणु," इति माता अवदत्।
In the evening, young Shivaji sat at his mother Jijabai's feet. In the light of the lamp, the mother tells a story. "My child, today listen to the story of Rama," said the mother.
