अन्यायं दृष्ट्वा मौनं महापापम्।
Anyāyaṃ dṛṣṭvā maunaṃ mahāpāpam.
“To remain silent in the face of injustice is a great wrong.”
Dalhousie's Policy
लॉर्ड डलहौसी ब्रिटिश-भारतस्य गवर्नर-जनरल आसीत्। तस्य नीतिः एवम् आसीत् — "भारतीयराजाः दत्तकपुत्रान् कर्तुम् न अर्हन्ति।" "यस्य स्वपुत्रः नास्ति, तस्य राज्यं ब्रिटिशसाम्राज्ये अन्तर्भवेत्।" एवम् बहूनि राज्यानि ग्रस्तानि — सतारा, नागपुर, अवध... झाँसीम् अपि ग्रसितुम् सः सज्जः आसीत्।
Lord Dalhousie was the Governor-General of British India. His policy was: "Indian kings are not entitled to adopt sons." "He who has no natural son — his kingdom shall be absorbed into the British Empire." In this way, many kingdoms were swallowed — Satara, Nagpur, Awadh... He was ready to absorb Jhansi as well.
