Arjuna's Grief

On the field of Kurukshetra, between the two armies — Arjuna sat in his chariot. Krishna was his charioteer. Arjuna looked at both sides — grandfathers, teachers, uncles, brothers, sons, friends. His heart was torn asunder. "Krishna! I have no wish to kill these people. What is the joy of a kingdom? What is victory — if they are gone?" Arjuna let his bow fall — and slumped in his chariot.
