The Renunciation
For thirty-six years, Yudhishthira ruled the kingdom with righteousness. Then the news came — Krishna had passed beyond. The city of Dvaraka had sunk into the sea. Yudhishthira understood — his own time had come. "I give the kingdom to Parikshit — Arjuna's grandson." Having said this, the Pandavas set out northward — together with Draupadi — six people. One dog also came along with them. The people wept as they watched — "Dharmaraja departs."
