Kaikeyī's Two Boons
दशरथः कैकेयीम् अत्यन्तम् अप्रियत्। पुराकाले सः तस्यै वरद्वयम् अददात्। कैकेयी अवदत् — "राजन्! अद्य वरौ इच्छामि।" "भरतः राजा भवतु — रामः वनं गच्छतु।" दशरथः सञ्चकम्पे।
Dasharatha loved Kaikeyī greatly. In former times he had given her two boons. Kaikeyī said — "King! Today I desire the two boons." "Let Bharata become king — let Rāma go to the forest." Dasharatha shook with grief.
