Viśvāmitra Comes to Ayodhyā
एकदा महर्षिः विश्वामित्रः अयोध्याम् आगच्छत्। सः दशरथं प्रति अवदत् — "राजन्, मम यज्ञम् रक्ष।" वने राक्षसाः यज्ञं नाशयन्ति। दशरथः पुत्राभ्याम् विश्वामित्रेण सह वनम् अप्रेषयत्। रामः लक्ष्मणश्च गुरोः सेवायां सज्जौ अभवताम्।
Once the great sage Viśvāmitra came to Ayodhyā. He said to Dasharatha — "O King, protect my sacrifice." In the forest, demons are destroying the sacrifice. Dasharatha sent his two sons with Viśvāmitra to the forest. Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa became ready to serve the teacher.
