Two Minds, One Mission
सावित्री ज्योतिरावश्च केवलं दम्पती नासन् — सहकर्मिणौ। ज्योतिरावः लिखति स्म — सावित्री पाठयति स्म। सावित्री लिखति स्म — ज्योतिरावः प्रेरितः अभवत्। एकस्य मनसि प्रश्नः उदेति — द्वितीयः उत्तरम् शृणोति। इदं मिथुनं — सममनस्कं, समाधिकारं।
Savitribai and Jyotirao were not merely a couple — they were sahakarmīṇau (सहकर्मिणौ — co-workers). Jyotirao wrote — Savitribai taught. Savitribai wrote — Jyotirao was inspired. In one's mind a question arose — the other heard the answer. This mithuna (मिथुनम् — pair, partnership) was of equal mind and equal rights.
