Vibhīṣaṇa Seeks Rāma's Refuge
विभीषणः रामं शरणं याति

शरणागतं न त्यजेत् — एषः परमः धर्मः।
śaraṇāgataṃ na tyajet — eṣaḥ paramaḥ dharmaḥ.
“Never abandon one who seeks refuge — this is the highest dharma”
Vibhīṣaṇa Advises Rāvaṇa
विभीषणः रावणस्य सभायाम् अवदत्। "भ्रातः, सीतां रामाय देहि। युद्धम् मा कुरु।" "रामः अजेयः। अस्माकम् लङ्का नाशम् यास्यति।" "सत्यम् वदामि — धर्मम् अनुसर।" रावणः कुपितः तम् अवमानयत्।
Vibhīṣaṇa spoke in Rāvaṇa's court. "Brother, return Sītā to Rāma. Do not make war." "Rāma is unconquerable. Our Laṅkā will go to destruction." "I speak truly — follow dharma." Rāvaṇa, enraged, dishonoured him.
