Famous sandhi words in daily use

Original words + sandhi rule = compound you recognise

नमस्ते = नमः + ते

namaste = namaḥ + te

salutation + to you (Visarga sandhi)

स्वागत = सु + आगत

svāgata = su + āgata

well + arrived = welcome! (Yāṇ sandhi)

हिमालय = हिम + आलय

himālaya = hima + ālaya
