Key sentence types in Class 7

Sandhi in verbs | Vibhakti combinations | Simple compound sentences with "ca" and "tu"

एकः काकः अस्ति। तस्य नाम काकः।

Ekaḥ kākaḥ asti. Tasya nāma kākaḥ.

There is one crow. Its name is Crow. (tasyaḥ = Ṣaṣṭhī "its")

सः विद्यालयम् गच्छति। परन्तु पुस्तकम् न नयति।

Saḥ vidyālayam gacchati. Parantu pustakam na nayati.

He goes to school. But he does not bring a book. (parantu = but; na = not)

मह्यम् संस्कृतम् रोचते।

Mahyam saṃskṛtam rocate.

Sanskrit pleases me / I like Sanskrit. (mahyam = Caturthī of aham; rocate = ātmanepada verb)

Translate these Class 7 sentences

1. तस्याः नाम सुमित्रा।

Hint: Tasyāḥ = of her (Ṣaṣṭhī feminine)

2. बालकः प्रतिदिनम् विद्यालयम् गच्छति।

Hint: pratidinam = daily
